WorkAway Solutions Partners with General Assembly

WorkAway Solutions becomes the first Fairfax-based co-working location to support Booz Allen Hamilton’s multi-year initiative to address the data science skills gap.

Springfield, VA. (May 1, 2018) – Leading community-based co-working hub, WorkAway Solutions, today announced an agreement with nationally recognized training provider General Assembly to serve as a local professional development venue for the global management consulting firm, Booz Allen Hamilton, as the company expands its data science workforce in 2018.  This agreement marks WorkAway as the first Fairfax County-based company to facilitate Booz Allen’s organization-wide initiative.

General Assembly, spearheaded the agreement with WorkAway (WA) co-founder, Susan King Glosby. Glosby notes that the alliance is a natural extension of WA’s mission to support and empower locally-based employees, and businesses that are community-based or have a national footprint.

“Entering an agreement with General Assembly is an organic fit for WorkAway because our co-working space is focused on building community by providing a place for entrepreneurs, professionals, and businesses to work, collaborate, and grow,” said Glosby, co-founder of WorkAway Solutions. “Booz Allen is supporting our local economy as well as providing their employees with a professional development program that is located conveniently enough to promote work-life balance.” 

WorkAway will host two data science classes for Booz Allen employees over the course of 10 weeks. The evening classes will be held Monday through Thursday. During normal business hours and weekends, WorkAway will continue providing co-working services along with scheduled networking events, professional workshops, seminars and speaking series.
